Troubleshooting HEIC conversion
Most conversion problems come from unsupported files, damaged images, very large photos, or browser memory limits. These steps help narrow down the cause.
The file is not accepted
heictoimg accepts HEIC files. Some images may have a different extension or may already be JPG, PNG, or another format. Check the file extension and try selecting the original photo again from your device.
Conversion fails on a large photo
Large HEIC files can require significant browser memory during decoding and conversion. Try converting one file at a time, closing other tabs, using a desktop browser, or restarting the browser before trying again.
A batch fails or stops
The converter supports up to 50 files at once on desktop and up to 10 on phones and tablets, but older devices may struggle with several large photos. Clear the list and convert a smaller batch, especially if the photos came from a newer phone camera.
The HEIC file may be corrupted
If one specific file fails in multiple browsers while other HEIC files work, the image may be damaged or incomplete. Try exporting the photo again from the original device or resending the file.
The converted file is rejected somewhere else
External upload forms can require specific file sizes, dimensions, filenames, formats, or document rules. heictoimg converts HEIC to JPG, PNG, or WebP, but it cannot guarantee that another website, agency, school, employer, or marketplace will accept the output.
